I have this friend whom I've only known since the begninning of this school year, and although he's more of the reclusive type, we've gotten pretty close.

For some reason, I can't stop thinking about him. I don't know if I "like" him. For some reason, it would even seem more right to say that I love him. All I know is, that I think he's special, and that I want him to know that at the very least.

Valentines day is nearing, and student council is having rose sales.
Should I buy red (love), pink (happiness), or yellow (friendship) for him?

I've decided to buy yellow for now, but...

I'd like to hear opinions from others

Why don't you buy him one of each and explain the meaning of each? As long as he doesn't have a problem receiving flowers from a woman, he should really like your thoughtful gift.

I think the Yellow is a good idea but make an emphisis on how much of a friend he is to you if he is unaware of how you feel for him he might not know how to handle having someone love him so suddenly I am sure he will apreciate the gift as RubyPitbull said.

My advice in plain don't go fast some people are scared of fast change.

Interestingly enough, he sent me a yellow rose apparently. And they're expensive..

Ooohlala newbooty! Very nice.;) Sounds like he may feel the same way you do and, since you said he is kind of shy, he was probably worried about you possibly rejecting him if he gave you a red one. He is playing it safe. You have got to let us know what he does for Valentine's Day because I am sure he will give you something.

Now I would say give him a pink rose to express your happiness towards such a kind gesture.
