I have a goodman 125-4 rev b furnace and the gas valve will not open. I wiggled the wire to what appears to be a fuse in the red line coming into the gas valve and it got gas for about a half second. What is the component in the gas valve wire?

Are you sure it's a faulty wire? A dirty flame sensor or just dirty burners will give the same system. If the flame sensor can not prove that the burners have lit it will shut 24v off to the gas valve.
