In spite of what the label advised on the can... use only on bare wood... I proceeded to try and cover some
Scraatched on my oak table as well as two drawer fronts on my cupboards... after using on the scratch area it
Looked so good I completely covered my table and drawer fronts... several times... leaving it the required time between coats... this am I touched my table top and left fingerprints behind... took a cloth to try and wipe it off... and it is just smearing... HELP... if there anything I can do to
Fix this...

The 210B can states, under Surface Preparation, 1. The surface must be free... AND existing coatings BEFORE STAINING. You apparently applied it over an existing prefinished surface. Applying the stain over a sealed top is not a good idea and 2 coats is a bad idea as they will rarely dry. You can use it on sealed surfaces but need to almost immediately wipe it off with a good cloth. Use mineral spirits to remove the surface coat. It will not remove the existing finish although it may remove the minwax you put in the scratches. It it does, use a qtip or small brush to fill in the scratches. After everything is dry, 2-3 days, use a paste wax finish.

I agree with ma but can't give him a greenie rating just yet. Follow instructions on paint cans, the manufacturer know their product and was trying to save you this trouble.
