Hello, I'm seeking advice. I own a condo and fell behind (about 4 months) on my association dues. Since, I have been making payments and they have been accepting them, currently I only owe for the current month, however, I continue to get letters from a lawyer threatening to put a lien on my property. The lawyer and association have added so many extra fees that make it impossible for me to pay but I have paid all my association fees plus late fees. Can they still pursue legal action? What should I do?

Read your association rules. It should detail what charges and late fees the HOA can impose when dues are paid late. If there is a past due balance a lien can be imposed. However, all the lien does it prevent you from transferring the condo, until the arrears are paid.
