Outlook 2007 corrupt PST file. File not accessible.
Under 2 Gigs (1.8)
Renamed, created new PST file to access outlook again, but old PST is not accessible.
SCANPST.exe fails in stage 1 initiating with Error:

An unexpected error prevented access to this file. Use a disk error checking program to check the disk, and then try using MO Outlook 2007 Inbox repair tools again.

Log file says Error 0x8007045D: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error

I logged into safe mode, ran chkdsk /f and no bad sectors or errors were found.
System is working fine otherwise.

I have found no solutions to this problem online. Only adds for very expensive repair tools that appear to be a scam. Any ideas would be appreciated.

If you don't back up your PST regularly you are asking for trouble. You also need to keep it slimmer. Delete what you don't really need and use Archiving to keep the size down. But if SCANPST won't fix the problems its probably gone.
