I had a check that didn't clear and when they could not reach me with one phone call they called my neighbor and told her my check had bounced. Isn't this a violation of the privacy act?

How did the have the neighbors phone number, did you provide it as a point of contact ? Not sure how they would know who they are, and their phone number unless you gave them the number and permission to contract?

Next is it true that the checked bounce ?

Then what state is this

But first look over in detail what you allowed them to do in the paper work you signed

Yes neighbor was contact, but did not have permission to discuss my affairs. And it is Oklahoma. Well I know they are not allowed to tell anyone anything because the same person refused to tell my husband what was going on. But she told my neighbor. How messed up is that? So I was advised by another loan company that I told the situation to, and the told me to contact her supervisor, but she is not forthcoming with the phone number.

Sorry yes the check did not clear due to double dipping by my car payment. That took 15 days to get the money back in my account.

If you listed the neighbor as a contact, they can contact the neighbor if the account becomes delinquent. That appears to be what happened so I don't see any wrongdoing.

Yes, you basically gave them permission to contact the neighbor about the account.
