I'm on felony probation for dealing in stolen propery... I recently got a careless driving ticket. Will that make me VOP or am I safe? I've looked and there are no warrants for me and my ticket is in the system already.

You need to report this police incident to your PO immediately. What you need to do is pay the fine (if you can) and take the copy of the ticket and the proof you paid the fine into the PO when you are scheduled to see him next. Or you can call him up, speak to him (don't leave a voice mail message) and advise him you will be bringing in a copy of the ticket and proof that you paid your fine the next time you are scheduled to come in, if that is okay with him, that is. You chould not be violated for a traffic ticket. And FYI they don't put warrents for VOP's in the computer so as to tip off the person they are wanted.

If you reported it as required by your probation, and the officer has not violated you and issued a warrant, you should be safe, but just ask the PO to be sure.

If you did not tell the PO and think he just was told, you are wrong, you are required to tell them. In fact it is often one of the more serious violations for not telling them, and you could be violated more easily for not telling them ( and making them find out on their own) then for some of the minor offenses.

The reason for and the type of reckless driving will make a difference, did you drive on the grass pass a school bus almost hitting two kids, or did you run off the road going to fast, makes a difference.
