I have been with my boyfriend for near 5 years now and we have a little girl together. We barely get time together just as a couple, so when my partners mother offered to have our little one for the weekend, we jumped at the chance, so we could have some "us time".

Knowing that the time was for us to reconnect, my partner has been telling me he thinks he might make his own plans. Am I being petty, or am I right to feel hurt, and quite frankly let down that he sees other things more important than spending time with me to build our relationship back up?

Maybe it's more important to me than to him? I do love him I really do, just sometimes wonder if it's all worth it when I don't seem to mean as much to him anymore?

I would be furious, and let my partner know it.

Your not being petty , this time should be spent as you two as a couple, especially if you don't get that a lot , after you have had a child it is important to keep your relationship strong , as you don't really get your time together , maybe spice things up with a little surprise , show him what he's missing x

It just hurt a lot as we had actually planned what we were going to do, before our little one we went to the cinema all the time but haven't Been in near 2 year, I planned to go ice skating simply because I can't do it and he can so I thought it would be funny and help with our communication, and then for a meal, although we still have them quite often it is very rushed as our daughter has a very sort attention span and gets bored extremely quick.. Where am I going wrong? I told him how I felt and he apologized and we are still going to spend the weekend together, I just don't have the same buzz about it as I did before, if anything I feel sad because I can't help but feel he would rather be elsewhere doing his thing

Most couples would just keep talking and compromise on having fun together. Heck, half the fun is the debate over what to do. Doesn't matter the what, all that matters is you BOTH have some fun together.
