I have seen a couple doctors and they are not ingrown hairs and the doctors don't seem to know... they never encountered this.

Sorry, I can't believe you could not get this diagnosed by two doctors; bug bites get red and swollen and puss filled.

I would like to tell tickle who is suppose to be and expert that the answer and attitude toward me is way out of line, I too am a professional person and have a very knowledgeable background in the medical field , yes I DID consult 2 doctors.. your answer suggested that I didn't. I just got the results from a 3rd specialist who did biopsies and I have now gotten the answer.. nothing so simple as a tick or lymes disease... it is Webers- Christian disease. In the future to just throw out any old answer to someone really needing help. Maybe you need to study things out more thoroughly before you off-handly give and answer to someone who is desperate for help.
Sincerely Rev. Curry

Rev, Curry, we are not allowed to diagnose on AMHD. My answer was not out of line owing to the fact that I could not see the lumps you described and not knowing your medical history, as a doctor would.

I apologize if you thought I was out of line, but I do not think so under the circumstances. Your post was about ten words and in one line with very little description and if you read it back to yourself, did not even appear to be a question. We are all volunteers here, Rev. Curry with other work to pursue while giving our time here.

What could I have possibly 'researched' to answer your question ?

Glad you finally found a proper doctor to diagnose your problem and had your mind settled.

On the other hand, I am not a doctor, no do I say I am; my expert status covers many boards here on AMHD. I do however work in a field where I care for senior people and take care of their needs when they cannot.

Your disparaging remarks attackng my ability do not suit me either. I wonder how broad the knowledge was of the doctors who could not diagnose your problem even when they could actually see your symptoms.

ritapreach, your question was woefully lacking anything remotely helpul, you totally misunderstood tickle's response, and to top it all off, you have a very rare skin condition which doesn't fit your meager description very well at all. I am doumbfounded that you would be upset.

Excuse me but I wasn't so upset about the misdiagnosis but how she suggestively made m e feel like I hadn't even seen other doctors she talked down to me... that is what really upset me. And what couldn't she understand about red swollen lumps with pus... do you really think I would be stupid enough to ask about bugs bits? They would be obivious.she can believe I could get diagnosed by 2 doctors?? Did she think I was lying to her? Enough already I have better things to do with my time then to read your petty stick up mfor tickle.

Again, 'swollen red lumps with pus' was just so little information that any response would have been similar. I'm sure the first two doctors told you that there are so many skin conditions and so many causes of them that diagnosing isn't easy even when seen in person. On sites like this, it can get tiring to ask over and over, where do you live (bites), what is your age and gender, your overall health, allergies, the size and color and firmness/softness of the bumps, do they itch, how long have you had them, and on and on. People come here expecting answers without bothering to take the time to realize that we can't see you and know nothing about you. Granted, we who answer here a lot need to keep in mind that each new person may be unaware of all this, and that we have to approach each new question without all the baggage of the previous ones. It isn't easy, and we are all VOLUNTEERS.

You have had really good answers so far. We can not diagnose this over the internet. You need to give a lot more information on what is going on to get the bigger picture. Also you need to realize that you have already seen two doctors. If your not happy with them. You need to continue to see a doctor until they figure out what is happening with you. Even you have the right as a patient to demand to see a specialist. Dermatologist would be in order for any skin disorder. You have to be your own advocate as a patient.

Go back to the doctors and get a referral to a specialist.

First, may I point out that this form of communication lacks 70% of full communication. Tone of voice, facial expression and body language make up 70% and are missing here. So, while you got upset it was mostly through your own interpretation, not what was inherent in what Tickle posted.

I mention this because you need to keep it in mind if you use this site further (which I hope you do). If you don't like an answer you are free to ignore it. If you feel it violates our rules please report it. But please don't personally attack someone because you didn't like their answer. Remember that we volunteer our time and expertise to help others here.
