Hi. I bought a Casablanca Ventura 6722T fan with Inteli Touch in September of 2010. It appears that the circuit board located inside the motor housing has gone bad and, if I am reading the warranty correctly, this board has only a 1 year warranty. I found a troubleshooting guide that allowed me to test the W-32 wall unit. That unit checks out fine. The lights work but the fan does not. The cost of a new circuit board appears to be around $129. Since the original board lasted just a year, I don't want to buy another board of this type. I have no confidence in it.

Here's my question. Can the Inteli Touch circuit board and W-32 wall unit be replaced with a W-28 wall unit and some other circuit board? I don't need all of the fancy programming that the Inteli Touch offers. I just need something that is reliable. It appears that the W-28 allows 4 fan speeds and has a dimmer for the lights. This gives me what I need.

I would appreciate any guidance that you can provide. Thanks.

Given that this is September, my action would be to contact the vendor and ask for a warranty replacement.

Unfortunately, the vendor has gone out of business. At this point, I can work with a local repair shop or through Casablanca directly. I have posed the same question to Casablanca through their web site and am awaiting their response. Either way, a replacement, even under warranty, requires that I disassemble the fan, remove the defective part, either ship it or hand deliver it to the local repair shop, get the replacement and then reinstall that new part and I am still left with the same model of circuit board that failed in under a year. In looking at various web sites, it appears that my problem is quite common in terms of failing Inteli Touch circuit boards. I would rather spend the money to buy a more reliable board and wall control, if that's possible. If not, I have an expensive fan that most likely will continue to have problems. This is my first Casablanca and will most likely be my last. Thank you for your response.

I had the same problem. Did you ever fix it? I have the Avalon Blade system and would just assume go with another brand, but they don't fit any other motor except Ventura and Panama. I am now looking for a whole new ventura motor. If some of these prices are right, it's cheaper than fixing what I have. This fan has been off for 2 years. We've had it since 2000, had the motor replaced after 3 years(No cost, but had to pay for shipping), had the fly wheel replaced at our cost of $150+Shiiping, the avalon blades I had were the old style with the fishing rod type fiberglass rod and one of them split, had to spend $70 for them to sennd me a new set because they didn't have my color(Grey and white), and now this circuit board goes! If the damned thing didn't look so cool(Never have we received so many compliments on a ceiling fan!) I would just assume throw it off a cliff. Meanwhile, the Hampton Bay fan I bought the same week at Home Depot, On Clearance, still works with out a hitc 13 years later. You should be embarrassed Casablanca! $800 ceiling fan and nothing but problems!

Hi. I ended up contacting Casablanca. They told me that because of the way my fan was designed, the only board that I could use was the model that came with the fan. The upside is that they replaced the board in warranty and at no cost without requiring that I return the defective board. It was easy to replace. The downside is that I have a fan that I feel will fail again and won't be in warranty. If that happens, I won't spend the money on repair and will buy a new fan instead. Very disappointed in the Casablanca fan. This is one case where you do not get what you pay for. I have had much better performance from fans that cost less than half of the Casablanca. Very disappointing. Good luck to you.
