A plumber recently replaced my Symmonds Temptrol diverter. Now several weeks later it has tightened up so much the valve can hardly be turned. Is there a quick fix that can be done by the homeowner or do I have to call the plumber back?

Sorry about the poor posting procedure, first time.
My plumbing question is that I recently had a plumber replace a Symmonds Temptrol shower diverter valve. Now several weeks later it has gotten progressively harder to turn so that now it is so tight its almost impossible to turn. Any quick fix the homeowner can do or should I call the plumber back? Thanks

Hi Terry
You could try to take the handle off and loosen the PACKING NUT (T-17... see image) behind the handle a bit. To remove the handle pop off the center button (T-33) at the handle and then loosen/remove the screw (T-32) under it . Pull the handle and loosen T-17 and see if that loosens things up.
If that fails to loosen things, call the plumber back.. something might be caught up inside the valve.
Good luck!

The plastic diverter T-30 sheared off at the base. How can I replace it without calling a plumber.

The diverter handle T-30 sheared off at the base.
How can I replace it with a new T-30 without calling a plumber?

Sorry, Ram... we don't e-mail people so hopefully you'll pop back in to get the response.
Remove the handle and all the trim pieces from the valve.
Then, the broken diverter part left in the valve will be easily seen and removed.
Next step is to purchase the new diverter handle and install it into the clip (T27L) and reinstall all the trim and handle.
Here, you don't even need to shut off the water... just remove parts and replace them.
Good luck!
