View Full Version : Decorating Internal Doors

Hi guys,

Need some decorating ideas. The internal doors in my home are cheap, flat and featureless and as I plan on selling my home soon, I need to reuse these to keep the budget low.

I know I can repaint these but the effect I'd imagine will be very plain?
Another option would be to put a trim on either side to frame the door but the shear amount of doors I have and time just doesn't seem like a realistic option.
I've also looked at full door decals or stickers but again, these are going to cost in bulk.

Has anyone any good tips or ideas from painting effects or a cheap, quick border effect they've done to their home and if so... How?

Thanks

I'm sure that any real estate agent or stager will tell you that it isn't worth it. Calling attention to the plain flat wooden doors (I have those too) will even be detrimental, I think. The keys to staging are curb appeal (the front yard and walkway), removing all clutter and most knick knacks, and getting rid of loud paint and curtains.

If you make the rest of the house appealing, the doors won't matter. Watch HGTV. You'll see lots of flat doors.
