I'm so scared. You see, I'm only 13 and naïve and I was just fooling around on Omegle. I didn't SAY ANYTHING BAD OR HORRIBLE, I just said
"Hi"
The stranger thought I was some 40-year-old pedophile and they would track me down. I'm scared if they really do they would think it's my dad or something... I'm just 13, and I'm not a bad person I don't want to go to jail I don't want my friends to think I did something horrible. I just said Hi and lied about my age that I was 12, but it was a typo accident and the stranger overreacted and said they would get a lock on my external IP and I typically freaked out and cried in tears. Today is my first time on Omegle and apparently my LAST. I'm never going to social networking websites except Yahoo, YouTube, and Facebook ever again! :(

No they cannot track your address. But there are nothing but perverts there. Just don't log on again.

The owner of the site, or its management, the police or other authorities, can tract you down using your IP address.

This is how the police track down pedophiles and child porn on the internet.

If this was just another user, most likely no, unless they can hack ( also illegal) into the system.

I was having fun there telling people I was a 15 year old girl when I'm actually 47. Hmmm... this is nothing but a haven for pedophiles.

Yeah, jail time is expensive!
