My 5 yo dishwasher just stopped working... I tried the reset trick and it did not work. The lights all flash and the selection of the various settings seem to work but when you close it and push start there is no action. The start key also does not go green. There has been 2 occasions where just moving it around and pushing hard seems to have started it... help please

What brand and model dishwasher is this... someone swiped my Ouija board and I don't have a crystal ball. (I'm sure it was just an oversight however)

But in all seriousness, if the control board is $500, unless it's a damn nice and really expensive dishwasher... I'd opt for getting a new dishwasher.

$500! For a board! If you really want to keep this DW, call around to some of the used appliance stores and see if they have one. You can get all kinds of new DW's at HH Gregg, HD or Lowe's. Maybe not a Mihle or a Bosch but plenty others.
