I am a print maker with a degree in fine art, I recently found an etching of a Paris scene with the name DALLEMAGNE in the corner. It is numbered 40/200 I believe and is long and narrow. I spent some time online looking up the name and could only find auction sites that sold his etchings. I'm not looking to sell this print I'm looking to learn about the artist, other than knowing that he is a very talented printmaker with a great technique I know nothing about him. Any help as to where to go, and or who to ask would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I have two prints by the same person - I did a bit of research and found the following.
Aimé Edmond Dallemagne (1882-1971) was a French School painter and aquafortiste born in Saint Germain-en-Laye (Seine-el-Oise). He began to exhibit his work in the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1905. He is listed in Benezit where additional details of his work appears.
How true it all is I cannot vouch for - but as mine is dated 5/8/1937 - this would tie in.

I found a print at a market that is not numbered by the same artist. It is an etching of Pont Neuf, Paris, bottom left corner has DALLEMAGNE on the etching and hand written (in pencil) Le Lall..?. Cannot read the rest of the letters. If it is not numbered does that mean it is a one off? Bron
