View Full Version : MSOutlook 2010 - populate contacts when typing?

Is there a way to change WHERE MS Outlook automatically looks for Contacts? If I hit the To: button, I get the global address list... which is about 10-15 contacts, all internal to my office, and all of which will appear in the To box if I start typing that person's name--this doesn't work for the bulk of my contacts.

I have to go to the drop down menu to choose Contacts under my name in order to find what I need--with thousands of contacts THERE, I don't EVER need to refer to any other contact list first. It's a bunch of extra steps whereas, if Outlook was already LOOKING at Contacts instead of Global Address List, I wouldn't have to jump through hoops all the time just to get e-mails addressed...

NeedKarma--for some reason it's not showing me your answer when I come to this page, I just got an e-mail notification that you'd replied... It actually says "Sorry no answers yet" so there's either a glitch or you deleted your response...

Whatever the case, I figured this out, and thanks for trying to help! :)

Well, THERE it is, it only appeared after I replied. This wasn't the actual link that I ended up using but yes, that was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again!
