So today, I have only eaten 2 scones and an apple, this was about 5 hours ago. It's now 1am and I sleep on my front, I'm getting really bad hunger pains and my tummy is making grumbly noises. I do smoke and I had a beer about an hour before coming to bed.. it's been going on for a while (hunger pains before bed) and it's quite uncomfortable! Can anyone suggest how to stop this? I know what I've eaten isn't a lot but some days I just don't feel hungry.. when I do eat I tend to bloat as well.

You're hungry! 2 scones and an apple for a whole day and you're wondering why you have hunger pangs and your stomach is grumbling? You need to eat.

And cigarettes and a beer on an empty stomach when you are essentially starving yourself? That would make anyone feel like crap.

Try starting with a bland diet but with adequate calories, and eat something every 4 hours so you don't get over hungry. Some foods that are easy on your stomach include rice, bananas, apple sauce, bread, eggs, basic cereals and the like. As you get used to eating more, introduce more fiber and variety to your diet, some meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, etc. Keep a log as you slowly introduce additional foods. If something results in a lot of bloating, maybe you are sensitive to it.

Or just go to a doctor - perhaps you are lactose intolerant, intolerant of gluten or hae swome other sensitivity but you can't expect to feel well on your current diet.

I guess this may be why I am always constipated and my stomach feels hard. Thank you. I'll have to work on a food diary or something.
