A woman flees from her abusive husband, with her two children. They start a new life in another state. The husband has been in jail, and a few years later is released. He tracks her down, and locates her address by following the children from school. He breaks into the house and after a brief confrontation she shoots (and kills him) She is placed on trial for his murder, but when the court hears about the years of violence and abuse she suffered when with him, she walks free. May be based on a true story. Could be either a lifetime movie, or maybe Odyssey.
