Over the last 5 months my periods have all of a sudden decided to be late every month. Sometimes missing a month completely. They tend to be 2-3 weeks late then it's a much shorter lighter period than my old 'regular' type of period. I always do pregnancy tests which are always negative... I have abdominal cramps, shooting pains down the left side of my stomach, and also in my legs. My skin has started to get spotty (I have never suffered from spots in my life) my hairs gone incredibly greasy... it seems my whole body is going out of sync! On top of that I can't sleep at night, struggle to wake in the morning an walk around feeling exhausted all day. Also I think the lack of sleep is causing these daily headaches I keep getting. I went to a doctor who just told me he's never known a woman to complain of lack of periods, an I'm not a robot so don't expect the same period every month. I just left it there as I felt incredibly uncomfortable! Im 28, I have 2 children aged 10 and 3 and I am not taking birth control, I use condoms as a form of contraception. I took a test 3 days ago currently at 13 days late from my last period, negative result! Anyone know what all this could be??

Some doctor you have there.
Get your thryroid checked and a full CBC (blood work) and when you do, answer back here.
It could be any one of dozens of causes, or more than one, or stress or bad diet or fibroids or low hemoglobin or... on and on.
Are you on any medications? Birth control? Anything unusual happen, any flu or injury? What exactly do the spots look like and where are they?

Thanks so much for your response... well, the spots are on my face only, just the usual pimple type. I do not use any birth control and haven't done so for 4 years. Ive had no accidents or injurys. Also I am not on any medication. I had bloods taken and when I called for the results they informed me the diagnosis of bloods was labeled 'no action' meaning nothing was found abnormal... this was the only explanation they could give. Also had urine tests which returned all clear of infection. My diet is generally quite healthy. I eat a lot of fresh foods, I cook all my meals from scratch so I know everything that goes into my meals. I don't do any heavy exercise or majour sports. To my knowledge having not been told by a doctor I don't think I have fibroid problems. (at least the doctor has never suggest this could be the reason) Now I'm just waiting on an ultrasound... although waiting for one has so far been nearly 3 weeks. Im just so confused as to what's happening with my body and my doctor does not seem too interested in helping me resolve this.
