I replaced dist. plugs, wires, alt. battery, and fuel filter. I checked the manin relay and it tested good. Before the problem started my speedometer started jumping around then all my lights started flashing rapidly now the speedo stopped jumping but the rpm meter started doing the same as the speedo then the rpm quit working all together can someone help please!

If the CEL comes on for 2 seconds and then goes out, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II), then the problem is likely distributor related. If you installed a new aftermarket distributor, you may need to exchange it for another. Over 50% of these distributors don't work properly at AMHD.

But I just put a new distributor in less than three months ago do u still think it could be that?

Yes. If it's an aftermarket distributor, then it's entirely possible. There have been many similar experiences at AMHD.
