I'm on probation and my money is due soon and I probably won't be able to pay it off. I have a 6 month old daughter and one on the way, and was wondering if anyone knew how I could avoid going to jail and getting a court date instead? I will be in violation in a few months if I cannot pay it and I wanted to know if I could send a letter to the court asking them to please send me a court date rather the putting out an arrest warrant making it so I have to go to jail.

I will assume you have been reporting in to the PO officer, and explaining to them why you can't pay, ** no job ?
Or if you are working, showing them where every penny goes and that you are paying what you can.

Your PO is the one that will violate you for not paying, so constant contract with them, proving you are doing everything you can

You may ask the PO to ask the judge if he will extend your probation for another 6 months or a year so you may finish paying your fines. This way you won't sit in jail due to non payment. Ask now as it takes a few weeks or a month to get the judge to approve this. The judge could also order you to pay less a month as well and still not violate you.

I hope your dad comes through with all the money you owe in fines, etc. so you can be off probation. You can always pay ahead of time so everything is all paid up just in case something happens. Ask your PO what money would i.e. take to get paid up in full and then hopefully dad has the money needed. This way you can relax and stop worrying.
