I am usually about 99% on time with my pills for the past 10 years. The past two weeks I missed two pills and may have doubled up one day. This made me start my placebo pills early (Wednesday instead of Friday). My period has been very light Friday and this morning and I think it is usually heavier by this time. Can changing when I start the placebo pills change how heavy my period is?

Absolutely! It's called breakthrough bleeding.

Well, I am taking my normal placebo pills and I am on day four, so would that still be considered breakthrough bleeding? I've head breakthrough bleeding during my active BCP pills in the past and it was extremely light and my dr changed the type of pill I was on.

Considering you missed two pills, this would constitute breakthrough bleeding. Doesn't matter that you "doubled up," your body did not detect the hormones from the birth control pills that you missed. This is one reason that the BCP should be taken at the same time every day.

I also may have doubled-up by accident. I was moving and things were a little chaotic, so it was a pretty stressful time. I am thinking it may be stress related.
