Hi, I am a 14 year old female. I have been having lots of trouble sleeping lately, staying up all night just laying in bed until light, when I just give up and get out of bed. Occasionally I will get a few hours of slep, but I'm still tired. I've been feeling moody and lazy lately, and I've had a change in apetite. The only drugs I am taking is Prozac 20mg for anxiety. My mom thinks it could be sleep insomnia. Any ideas? Thanks!

Prozac COULD be having the opposite effect on you that it is supposed to have! Many adult medications have contrary effects in children. I took Prozac in my 40s and it had awful side effects, whereas my sister took it and did fine. Any time you take a drug you need to tell your doctor what is happening.
Insomnia in teens can be changing hormones of puberty, it can be worries about life, it can be too much stimulation in the hours before going to bed, it can be too much caffeine from sodas like Coke. Instead of popping a pill, see a therapist. MUCH better at your age. I had insomnia in my teens too, before the days of therapists and drugs, and it went away on it's own, although I wish I had had someone to talk to.
