Please help! I found out I was pregnant July 24 and I was 5 weeks and 3 days. I had been having light bleeding since I found out and it got heavier . I went to the ER and the done a cervix exam and bloodwork. I had excellent levels of HCG and my cervix was fully shut. The obgyn on duty there said it was "vaginal Bleeding" to get bed rest. I bled up until July 30 and it stopped. Last night (July 5) I had sexual intercourse with my baby's father and I have started to slightly bleed again tonight. (July 7) is something wrong? Im worried, and can't be seen by an OBGYN until I am accepted by medicaid. Some answers would be helpful!

Bleeding can be common during the first trimester as long as it is not bright red bleeding accompanied with cramps.

Intercourse will also cause bleeding as the cervix is highly vascular and manipulation of the cervix by the penis can cause this bleeding. It might be best, at this time, if you attempt to avoid vaginal intercourse until you see an OB/GYN and have all issues resolved.
