I have an automotive Exide battery charger Model 15002 that has the connection tab broken off on one of the diodes. I need to replace the diode. It is pressed in and I have removed it. Diameter of the Diode is .500 inches and it is about .250 inches deep. Battery Charger has 3 ranges 75/23/12 amps output. I need to purchase a diode but don't have any part numbers and don't know where to purchase one. Any Help would be appreciated.

I finally took charger to a local Electronics store and they are replacing the heat sink diodes with another style.

Nice job. I'm glad you fixed it instead of buying a new charger.

This may be your diode?:
70-500 Exide Battery Charger Parts List (http://www.centurytool.net/70_500_Exide_Battery_Charger_Parts_List_s/271.htm)
Then scroll down to the diode.

Stratmando... I had seen that web site address and had even called them. The diode listed is one for a large garage style charger with a 200 amp starting cycle. My charger is smaller. Thanks anyway.

Found a local electronics store that replaced the heat sink diodes with some bolt in diodes. Seems to work fine.
