I noticed this problem within the first year of purchase (bought new), and the dealership told me my engine would break in. I trusted the answer and did not pay attention. Unbeknownst to me, it has gotten worse. (I get in the car and drive, I don't get out to see if there is white smoke pouring out). When I started my car in a public parking lot recently, a couple ran up to me that have a 2002 model and said theirs does the same. I took it back to the dealer, they admitted the 2000 model had valve gelling problems, but 2002 does not have any known issues. They looked at it and said the valve covers could be bad, or it could be a gelling problem, but because it wasn't documented under warranty, it will be on my dime (try thousands to fix). I want to know if anyone else has a problem of oil leaking, which burns off at start (hence a cloud of white smoke which is NOT good air quality!) I am sure if there are 2 cars in my neighborhood, there has to be more. Anyone else have this engine flaw?

Not really sure what your problem is but I just wanted to say that white smoke usually does not indicate oil. Oil smoke is usually blue and white is caused most often by heavy condensation or antifreeze that is burning (most often caused by leaking head gasket).
