I don't live in TN but in ON you have to be at least 12 years old to start babysitting by yourself.. I'm not to sure if that was helpful.

The law does NOT address this situation... It only address's the fallout if the parent makes the WRONG decision... That means SOME children can be left alone, while OTHERS can't. If you're asking, you probably shouldn't leave him alone.

I think this is the applicable law:
39-15-401. Child abuse and child neglect or endangerment. — (http://state.tn.us/tccy/tnchild/39/39-15-401.htm)
Essentially, if you leave a child alone and that child incurs an injury then you could be prosecuted under this statute. Child is identified as anyone under 18. However, if you leave the child and no injury occurs, then you would not be prosecuted.

Please stop posting on the legal boards when you are only guessing. Not only didn't you answer the question (again), you aren't even sure if you are helpful.
My research (and this has been answered before) indicates there is NO minimum legal age to babysit in Ontario. Please post where you got your information.
