Why do you want to replace the entire duct system?

To make a long story short, it will be a HUGE job that may or may not be worth the time and expense.

If your modular has a "belly" it would be a very huge job to replace the ductwork, as RickJ stated. Also, depending on the room underneith the home, which is usually very limited, unless the home is on a foundation with a crawl space, or on a full basement, can be nearly impossible to work on the underside of the home. I would never take on a job of duct replacement under these circumstances, and Im pretty sure most plumbing and heating companys would also shy away from them. Now, that being said, where there is a will, there is a way. Or more like, where there is a will, and a customer that is willing to dish out huge amounts of money, there is a way. If you are really dead set on having the ductwork completely replaced, I would suggest getting as many heating companys out to give you estimates, if they will even come out and look, your doing good.

When you say the ductwork is beyond repair, why is that. Also, if it is filthy, there are companys that do amazing things with furnace and ductwork cleaning. This may be a more reasonable alternative to look into.
