I was called on Friday about a job I didn't think was going to call me and wants me for a second interview and a drug test. I've had about a 12-pack and some vodka before I received that phone-call, I'm 210lbs and 5'8", my test is in 3-days and I'm worry about passing this test... would it show positive?

would it show positive?Hello l:

Even if it does, do you want to work for a company that doesn't allow its employees to engage in a LEGAL activity??

I know of no pre-employment drug tests that include alcohol. They check for illicit drug use. Alcohol tests are separate screens and alcohol does not show up on drug panels. Plus the alcohol will be cleared from your system within 24 hours at most.

This job is for a court interpreter and my understanding is that they do check for alcohol as well... just in case they do or they don't I would like to be sure... Thank you guys.

A drug test is for drugs, there is no requirement in any job that you can not drink when not at work.

Once again, that should not be the case. The only legitimate interest a potential employer could have is whether you are impaired at the time of application. That can be determined only by blood test or breathalyzer, not by urine.

Nonetheless, at an interval of 3-days you will have no measurable ethanol in your system. So good luck on your new job.
