A year ago I stole a pari of earrings from a store, they were seven dollars. I got charged with theft. It was suppose to be petty theft but the charge just says theft. How do I go about getting this expunged? And I received 2 years summary probation. (I'm not on parol and I do not have a probation office or any of that) I'm a college student and I need to work and I want this off my record ASAP. PLEASE HELP.

Where (for starters)?

You say you were charged with theft. Were you convicted, did you enter a "guilty" plea? Something else?

It is complicated and expensive (because it's almost impossible without an Attorney) to get a charge expunged.

Need to know the circumstances -

Just about EVERYONE who is arrested and either is found guilty or pleads guilty wants the arrest off his/her record ASAP. It doesn't work that way - unfortunately.

1. you are still currently on probation,
2. so you either plead guilty or was found guility.

You can not even consider at this point trying to get it explunged. Normally you will have to go 6 to 10 years after the crime to qualify
