I have a RUUD Silhouette II Furnace and recently the Electric air filter starts to spark after the Air conditioner has been running a while. I have discovered that the condensation from the compressor in the furnace is building up and dripping down causing the electric air filter to spark. During the winter when the heater was running we discovered a puddle at the bottom of the unit after the heater was running a while. At the time I though it was the Humidifier drain leaking and unplugged the humidifier and this solved the puddle after the heater had run a while.

I replaced the humidifer drain pipe coming out of the unit using 3/4" pipe and the condensation continues to build up and drip causing the unit to make the electric air filter spark after a few hours. Does anyone know what may be the cause and how to fix the problem? The unit is about 9 years old.
