HUsband and I have been separated for five years. Not divorced yet. We have a special needs daughter who is 19 yrs old and who now receives SSI. Can I still get child support from him? Whether I divorce him or not? Does he just get off scott free for the rest of her life just because of her age and SSI?

... Can I still get child support from him? ...
That would depend on where (which state) you are.

What state are you in?
Do you have a court order regarding child support? If so, what does it say?
Is your daughter completely disabled or does she have a functional disability?

That's a complex question. Now I'm in Illinois, but I still have a Texas driver's licence and had planned to go back. Husband is in Texas. I left furniture in Tx, because plans were to go back. I had a child support order once years ago but we reconciled briefly since then. My child has Downs. She will never be independent or live on her own.

At this point he may actually owe you nothing, since when you got back together, you may have ended that order.
But it will be up to an attorney ( and maybe a judge) to decide if your old order is still considered valid.
And did you have his permission to move out of state ? Since he can not visit ?
Next are you moving back to Texas or not ? And how long have you lived in ILL.

Been in Il for two years. It was to be temporary when I came to , but I lingered due to issues with a small property and finances. Trying to decide if worth it to go back to Texas. He did not disapprove of my moving out of State. He never saw her in the full year before we left. That would be a motivating factor (visitation, help) in going back.

I'm In Illinois, and own a small property here. But I lived in Texas before I came here and still have Tecas driver;s license. Trying to see if I need to go back just to settle some issues. Including divorce.
