I'm 22 my wife is the Same age we've been married for 4 years with one child. She used to have orgasms but when she was 17 something happened and has not been able to have one since. I've tried everything and nothing helps. I think it is emotional, if it is what can I do to help her? What would a counselor be able to do that I can't? Thank you for your time.

Whatever the thing that happened was, if it triggered her not being able to orgasm any more then counselling would indeed be my suggestion.

What a counsellor can do that you cannot is firstly use the training that they have to tackle this professionally. I assume you don't have that training.

Secondly they can provide a completely impartial safe place for your wife to express herself. With the best will in the world you are too close to the situation to do this. We all hold back things from the people we love for various reasons. Maybe we don't want to hurt their feelings. Maybe we are afraid they will be shocked at our innermost thoughts. Maybe we don't want to worry them. For whatever reason we care about what our partner thinks in a different way to how we consider what a stranger thinks. Particularly one that we know is trained to help us.

Thank you , no I do not have that kind of training I just wasn't sure what kind of approach they would be taking that's all.
