I have a new craftsman briggs & stratton 650 series 22" self propelled mower. It started once when first got it.But has not started since. Sears repair depot replaced sparkplug boot and said it was fixed.I have tried many times since with no luck at all. Sears repair depot got it back a second time and say it has been repaired. Ihave tried numerous times to start it with no luck. Sears says they have repaired it and will not do a refund. Any ideas on how to start this dud??

Pull the spark plug and reconnect the booted wire. Ground the threaded part using a clamp, alligator clip or any other reliable means. Crank the engine. Is there any spark? If so, dip the electrode end of the plug in some gas and reinstall quickly, with your fingers (a wrench takes too long) and reconnect the booted wire. Crank immediately. Any fire at all? If it starts but immediately stalls, you have a fuel delivery failure.

Take it back but not to repair, go to the store where you bought it and ask for a manager. I don't recommend repairing brand new anything from Sears or any othe store. They sell it and it must work or it goes back.
