My landlord charge me rent on the 3 of may.on the 2 of may he gave me a 30 day notice with no cause.can he do that?

Having not read your lease its hard to say but generally the answer is yes. If you are late, even by only a day or two, you are in violation of the lease, unlease the lease says otherwise. The LL may be just trying to wake you up with a little scare or he may be tired of late payments. I don't know all the history with his rentals. Bottom line, yes.

I would assume you think for some reason you were to live "free" the last month, you owe rent though the last date of his notice to move out. Thus the month notice. So yes you pay for the time you live there.
