Okay here's the deal. Me and my girlfriend are very close to each other. We have been dating for 4 months but known each other for 3 years. She told me she loved me 2 weeks into our relationship. So I feel in love with her. Evertything was good until last month she was acting diff, but we still went out on dates and stuff and then we went to a party and she told me some little things I'm doing are bothering her. So the next day she came over and said that she still likes me and cares about me a lot but is not sure if she loves me. She said she wants some space until exams are done so that's like a week and then after that she said she wants to try things out and really hopes things work out. She told many people the same thing. When I'm at school she will come sit by me and talk to me, she gets close to me now. Closer than we were before. She always kisses me in school or when we see each other. Its just the txting that is different we don't text and were just not hangin out until after exams, I'm just not sure if I should be worried or not... she did mention she isn't sure if she is happy with the relationship but then like I said she is now closer to me when she sees me. It seems like everything is fine just you get tell when we text its different... how do you think this will turn out

I think she rushed into things, I know you guys have known each other a long time, I think she thought she loved you, I think she also thought that telling you she loved you so early on was something that is just meant to be said when two people get into a relationship, when in fact she doesn't really know the meaning.

That's not a bad thing, I think its just something young people do a lot, me included! You think you want something, you get it, and turns out its not as great as it seemed when you have it, that's nothing personal against you or your being, you are just not compatible with each other.

So I don't think this will last to be honest. I think it a dead end relationship.

That couldd be that it is dead, but she wants to hang out again after exams are done and she thinks that this is just a phase that she is going through and she told someone she really wants things to work out so I don't know I'm just confused , she's just not sure if she actually loves me, but she still likes me?

She clearly said its not a break and we are not breaking up.. and I don't know if I'm giving her enough space or not. Should I not text her at all and she if she texts me.. we are also going to prom together in 2 weeks

I can understand your confusion too but you do have a choice over what way this can go. I think its unfair of her to have you confused and wondering. Its not a nice feeling, so you make this go your way...

You either tell her thanks but no thanks, you are just going to move on, it was nice while it lasted but you don't want to hang around waiting or wondering.

Or

You can do it her way and wait and wonder, until she is good and ready.

Frankly, id go for the first option, you make this your decision and stick to it. It'll mean no more confusion, none of this going back and forward and not knowing.

Okay who's graduating, and who's going off to college?

I think you enjoy what you have as she has obviously made some changes in the relationship, and I feel when you do get a chance to talk to her, you tell her truthfully that you are concerned.

I don't know how it turns out, but young loves changes all the time, and seldom do high school relationships last forever.

That's why I say, enjoy it while you got it. That's just a reality of life.
