We have a clog in our bathroom sink. It will not drain at all. We have snaked the line, ran a garden hose from the house down into the line, flushed with a garden hose and snaked from the roof vent, all to no avail. We have been dealing with this issue for many months. Sometimes it has helped using the garden hose from inside allowing us a few weeks of no problems, this time nothing seems to help. The bathtub gurgles when it is draining and it also makes the toilet gurgle. Any suggestions as to what is going on? Thanks, Bre

That gurgling tells me your vent stack is still an issue. How did you go about clearing the vent?

We have snaked the drain vent and ran the garden hose down it. Nothing at all came out with the snake and when the water was run down it it pushed water up into the sink, but nothing changed as far as drainage. Thanks for helping out!

I meant roof vent.

The proper rodding of a roof vent stack requires a snake or rod long enough to reach roof top to basement plus 20'. You may also need to use a smaller rod and rod into the verticle pipe coming out of the wall just before the trap connects to this drain
