I got into a car accident yesterday and while I was on yield a car hit my from behind. We pulled over to a safe place. I took down his information and his car and his license, but I didn't call the cops because it all just happened so fast. The damage was not that seriuos. Nothing happened to his car and my back bumber got hit. We'll my question is basically the car is under my dad's name and he gave me the car and the car insurance is under his. I was wondering after I called the guy who hit me and filed the claim with his insurance and all that. Who get's paid me or my dad? I just want to get the money so I can fix up the car. And also my back starts to ache a lot what should I do? I don't have money to go to the doctor and I don't want to miss work cause I don't have any sick time or pto. Any help would really be kind. Thanks

Report the accident to your insurance agent. The company will put together a file and assign an adjuster to it. You are covered, and your insurance company will wheel and deal with the other drive's insurance company to pay the auto repair shop and the hospital/doctor if you need medical care.

The insurance adjuster who is assigned to the file will interview you. If you are hoping to claim whiplash and put insurance payments into your own pocket, it doesn't quite work that way.

If it's your dad's car then it's his insurance policy and the insurance company will reimburse him for the damage to his car. Your dad (not you) should file the claim with his insurance company. I trust that among the information you got from the other driver are his insurance company and policy number, correct?
