K so I saw it when I was around 8 or 9 on TV, which means that, a decade ago, it was already old enough for the generic TV stations to get there hands on it.

I don't remember too much about the plot, only that some boy either found or was given a robot girl (in the form of a weird little cassette thing that talked) who didn't remember who she was (I think). She somehow gets rebuilt later in the plot of course. The boy is slightly confused about his feelings for her because she is a robot(or Android, technically). For some reason I can't remember if the girl actually liked the boy or not, which probably means she was indifferent towards him.

The part that I remember most about it is the end of the movie, where the robot girl dies, probably by sacrificing herself for the little boy. At the end of it all it seems like she is dead, but the last scene of the movie shows the little cassette thing from the beginning crying out for the boy by his name. I wish I could remember the names of the characters.

And I hate to say this, but many of my minor details may be incorrect about this.

Please please PLEASE tell me that someone else has seen this movie?? At least?
