I have a Craftsman Lawn Tractor with a Briggs$Stratton 18.5 hp V-Twin engine. The engine model # is 407777 and the type # is 0121-E3. It sat unattended to for two years under my deck that is covered by a roof.So It didn't sit outside in direct weather, it did have
Some cover. This year I went to try and start it up and the 1st thing I did was to replace the battery, I made sure I had good spark which It has.Turning the engine over I noticed
It wasn't getting gas even using the choke. So at that point I thought I'd check the fuel pump and I wasn't convinced that it was working properly,So I replaced the fuel pump.
Turning over the motor again I poured gas into the carb. And It would run as long as the fuel I put into the carb.would allow But would not continue to run from the gas in the fuel tank. So then I thought I'd fill a plastic cup filled with gas with Ahole in the bottom were I took the fuel line right from the carburetor to the bottom of the cup ,So the carburetor was gravity fed,and still the motor wouldn't run any longer than the fule I put into it would allow.I think I've maybe narrowed the problem down to something with the carburetor. Could anyone help me with this beast? Thank You jimyriff

On the bottom of the carb is a fuel solenoid sonds like it might me gummed up on the inside .might have to take carb off and clean inside.
