Did you see a doctor to get a prescription for doxin? You could give them a call and ask for advice.

I strongly advice against putting a dessert into your vagina, don't insert anything that should not be in there as it may cause a huge infection and make matters worse.

If anything eat the yogurt.

I have heard of natural yogurt working for thrush, eating and applying on the outer labia of your vagina, however since I don't know why your taking doxin or your medical history and I'm not a health care professional, the best advice I can offer you for now is do not insert a syringe into yourself, ring the doctor or ask a chemist/pharmacy.

EAT the yogurt, but do not put it inside you.

Yogurt with live cultures is good for regulating the bacteria that is causing the infection. But you should be eating it, not inserting it.

I would also recommend acidophilus, which is a pill that you can take daily, to help with the bacteria as well.

You might want to try at least asking a doctor or nurse about what you might eat or take to help with this infection. If you can't afford to visit the doctor, there are still a lot of resources (in America we have an "ask a nurse" hotline) for getting medical advice.

Really will it make it worse? Oh my that's why the fishy odor have gone worst. Well I'm glad someone answered my question. Because I saw many sites that say when your inserting yogurt it can kill the bacteria. I have to save up money for a doctor. I have been insertin yogurt three days now. I'm glad I've stopped it.

I've had yeast infections and a form of vaginosis in the past, and the doctors have always recommended eating yogurt. I've never heard a medical professional recommending inserting it.

I'm not a medical professional, so I can't say anything beyond that. Definitely continue eating it though.

My friend's mother is a OB-GYNE so I let her ask for me. Her mother said I should drink doxin. Since it is the cheapest. I would have to save money for check-up in the doctor. Since I am a 17 I don't have work. I'm really stressed out.

Where do you live? A lot of cities and towns in the states have resources specifically for women's health. You should Google local health departments and see if they offer free check ups for women. My home town and the city where I moved both had a free clinic for women.

I think you may be confusing bacterial vaginosis for a yeast infection. They are caused by different organisms. Was an actual diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis made?

However, continue with eating the yogurt, making sure it contains acidophilus, as it may help to ward off a yeast infection that could result from the antibiotic use. If nothing else, it is good for you... :)

It is important that you see a doctor as soon as you are able to. What about the health department? You would want to be sure of a correct diagnosis so that proper treatment can follow.

Topical application of natural live yoghurt is considered a perfectly acceptable thrush treatment by many, however it would not be effective for a bacterial infection which is what you seem to have.

Things you can take orally to support your body with the problem of vaginosis include garlic, goldenseal and probiotics. It is important to wear natural cotton underwear and to abstain from sexual activity until it has cleared.

You need to be aware that untreated vaginosis can lead to a higher risk of pelvic inflammatory disease, blocked fallopian tubes, and pregnancy complications amongst other things. I would endorse that you do see a medical practitioner.

Hi,

First off, sad to know what you are going through. I am not sure about the Yogurt curing your problem. I have not experienced this problem either. Just that I felt like helping you. After doing some research, just came across this medical blog thought will post here it may help you. Here's it:

There are the medications written in that article and diagnosis also. But it is better you ask for advice from an expert i.e a doctor or else if things don't work it may worsen. Happy to help you.

OMG! I've been doing the same. Its my 2nd time doing it. I've read to that inserting it in will cure it faster. So yours got worst? Really? Awww.. I'm using the same stuff also, the yogurt and the syringe (needless) since there's no tampon in the Philippines. I can't bear the taste of the yogurt. I can't afford going to the doctor nor tell my parents about it. I'm scared :( help me too.

Hi, how are you? Did you find the right cure and prevention after all? I have the same and its been recurring for two years now. For now, its kind of mild. My gyne said its probably an effect of stress and lack of sleep since I am working and been taking up a post graduate course (so I practically needed to stay up late to study after a stressful day from work) and not been having regular intercourse with my husband because he's been away for a couple of years now. My gyne said multiple sex partners may worsen your condition (which my husband and I definitely don't do but I need to say it so you could be aware). You should also stop using any antiseptic and scented bath soaps. I advise you to use white natural soaps instead. When I checked with my gyne for the first time (two years ago), she advised me to add a tablespoon of vinegar on my wash water for three consecutive nights. You should eat the yogurt and not insert it. Its kind of weird doing that. My gyne prescribed me to take Flagyl Forte (Metronidazole) it's a bit pricey but I think it has worked for me. But you should definitely check with a professional. Our health, specially down there, should never be taken for granted. Best luck and let's just hope a genius finds a permanent cure for BV :)
