I'm trying to find a movie that I saw on television in the 90's. It's about a group of people that get stranded/end up on some tropical island with a research facility. They are attacked while in the water at the beach by something with tentacles. Someone's leg gets cut up badly. There are monster on the island and I think they ended up being mutations caused from research done on the island. I think the people that were attacked turned into monsters too. It reminds me of The Thing but on an island.
