I have a vintage cadoro necklace that attaches with a j hook on each end. I've never seen a necklace like this. When you hook them together it does not lay flat. Does anyone know about this type of closure. Thank you

I'm kind of having trouble envisioning it, but let me make sure. The two hooks that look like J's (haha I do understand that) hook to each other at the back of the neck? Or.. Where do they hook if not the back of the neck.

If I got it right, then I fairly simple thing you could do to alter the necklace (if you wanted to) is to take a pair of half-round pliers that have soft jaws (that are protected with masking tape or duct tape or something similar) and bend one of the hooks (preferably the one that doesn't lie flat) and make it flat. Still make sure, though, that the hooks can still hook.
