This leaf blower was used by homeowner for one season. When I put it away, it ran out of fuel so I just stored it for the winter. In the spring, it would not start. Has a bright blue spark, has new gas, carburetor is clean, head bolts tight, carb bolts tight, and should fire up. I checked the compression and it was 65 to 70 lbs. Would this stop it from firing at all. I put a small amount of gas in the spark plug hole, and still would not fire. I bypassed the shut off switch, still no change. Usually I can get engines to run, but this one is a puzzle I would like to solve. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

I would like to see above 80 lbs.
If one comes into my shop and has less then 80 lbs I send it home.
Luck

You were right. The problem was a stuck piston ring. I tried every thing to get it loose, but couldn't, broke it out and bought a new ring. Put it back together and compression was about 95. Started right up. Although I don't have a business, I see why you tell them to take it home. It takes a lot of labor to fix a $100.00 leaf blower. Cheaper to buy a new one. Thank you.
