Went to a doctor and am currently taking Flagyl and Diflucan however it is been a few days and still having an awful itch on the left side only. The itch is mostly outside and is itching from the left side of my vaginal opening and also seems to sort of itch on the left inside and the itch goes a little further down toward the perineum. It also almost feels like there is something swollen on the left side inside of me. It is uncomfortable to sit or stand and when lying down I still feel no better. I can't seem to get any relief. I am beginning to think if this were a yeast infection or bv the medications I am taking would have already started working but it feels as if they are not working at all. I plan to see a doctor again after finishing the medications they have given me, but I want this taken care of and feel the problem is no better and the diagnosis/treatment from my last visit may not have been accurate. Any suggestions on what could be causing this misery?

They don't work that fast - you need a few more days on the medication. If you are extremely uncomfortable, call your Physican and ask for advice/a change in medication/something (else) for the pain and itching.

I have had this prob also that your describing sense sept of 2010 and I've taking all meds they have given me numerous times for it saying it could be yeast or bacteria vag but nothing has cleared that itch on the left side of vagina and it gets extremely bad at times. I don't know what it could be or what else I could even do.. have you figured out yet? A cure of yours

My Physician stated this could be swollen lymph nodes. My concern is that we have cancer in my family. I have the itching also although no discharge that is associated with yeast. I would suggest a culture to confirm the yeast Infection. It may be related to hormones. Please get another opinion.
