I have a 5 yr old GE Profile refrigerator and have changed the main control board 5 times and the front dispenser board once gave up and called the service man for the second time. Explaining what I have changed, the serviceman immediately went to the bottom of the machine on the freezer side and cut the three wires on a connecter and spliced them together. Asking him how he knew this was the problem he stated that he has worked on this problem many time before. Seems that moisture from the freezer caused corrosion to form on this connecter and there is no contact. After spending about ten minutes at my house the charge was in excess of $170.00 for the repair of a poorly designed appliance.
So much for reliability of expensive products.:mad:
