I worked for a temp service located in Ohio. I worked in mi, where I live.
I had both states take out income taxes. I am using turbo tax and trying to do my taxes. I keep reading about recirical states and it looks like Mich residents must pay taxes in BOTH states , but not the other way around?
I am confused. How do I get credit for the taxes paid to Ohio on turbo tax.
Thanks

You will need to file tax returns for both states.

It is likely that, since the temp agency is located in Ohio, the state of Ohio is taking the position that you worked in Ohio, even though your work location was in Michigan.

It is also likely that Michigan will give you a credit for the taxes you paid to Ohio, which should at least reduce (if not completely eliminate) the double taxation on your pay.

This is NOT an easy computation. You should consider getting professional help on your return. If you want to use my tax service, contact me at [email protected].
