My girlfriend is 20 and I am 20, almost 21. She loves me, but her family hates me for no reason. The think I caused her medical condition, brain lesion by anxiety. One day her whole block came down and start threatening me with prision and death. I almost called the police but I just left, after I said, "How about I just leave." Its been about three weeks. I am looking for a third roommate and want to ask her if she would like to live with us. She does not like her family. Could I get into any legal trouble if she decides she wants to live with my roommate and I? I have never done anything to hurt this women, all I have done is cared for her. I have loads of proof that we have/had a great relationship. Since she is 20 and would want to live with me, can I get in any legal trouble if she wants to move in with me? Thanks for any help!

If she decides to live with you, you would be in trouble? I seriously doubt that.. wheere on earth would you get such an idea?

She's 20, she can decide where she wants to live. Her friends, family, and neighbors have no legal say in the matter.

However, do you really want to be deal with her possibly being alienated by everyone if she does move in with you?

It's something you need to talk with her about, in depth.

No, you cannot get in trouble, she is over 18 and at least in the United States who can do whatever you please as far as your living situation goes. But, why take on something that will bring you so many issues, as the constant threats from family and friends.
