Ever since October of 2010 my period has skipped a month. I haven't had my period now since march 1, 2011. I took a HPT 2 weeks ago and it was negative. I am trying to get pregnant and have had no success. I have one 6 year old child already. I had an abortion 2 years ago. What can I do to increase my chance to have another child?

With irregular cycles, it can be more challenging to determine when you are most likely to be ovulating. It may also be that you are not ovulating every cycle. This can sometimes be due to hormone changes, either age related or otherwise.
You might want to discuss it with your doctor. Sometimes they can help with getting cycles more regular. In the meantime, you could watch for signs of possible ovulation, such as an increase in clear cervical mucus and, if possible, try to have sex every 2-3 days throughout each cycle. Keep in mind that it can naturally take quite a few months for pregnancy to be achieved.
Of course, be sure that you and your partner are doing what you can to lead a healthy lifestyle and it would be wise for you to be taking a multivitamin or prenatal vitamin, for the folic acid in particular.
Other than that, you will probably want to test each time you don't have a period, just in case. Good luck!

This was helpful and I will definitely speak to my OB GYN Doctor about my irregular period. Its been 7 months irregular, It would skip a month since October. I'm only 22 I highly doubt it would be age related. Thank you for you answer! Appreciate it very much
