Serious question, I have had my hood done for 2 years, when I got it done it barely hurt and heal in just a day or two, it has been a great thing in my marriage because it really gets the fire going when he touches it. I go in for my csection on the 31st, required csection that is and I was wondering if I took it out that morning if anyone knew how long it could be out before it heals.

My mum has been a midwife for 11 years and she often sees women with their hood's pierced, she doesn't always ask them to take it out unless it looks like it will tear or be a big issue, when a woman chooses to keep hers in, it's not usually a problem. If the your midwife needs to take it out, she'll take it out just before labor and give it back to you afterwards. If you have a ball with captive beat ring I suggest you take that out and place in a barbell that is made from bio-flex or ptfe as they are very flexible and light. If you're still unsure go back to your piercer or a few piercing parlors and ask and check with your midwife beforehand. Good luck and congratulations!

You will have to take it out for the C-Section as there is a risk of burns that can occur due to the metals in the piercing. I don't know how long before it heals, but you will most likely be ambulating within 12 hours, at that time you can replace the piercing.

I do not have my patients remove them for vaginal deliveries, but it is required to be removed for surgical deliveries.
